UPSC CSE Main 2022 Latest Update: UPSC Civil Services Main Exam May Be Postponed Due to Corona Virus? The decision is due to be made in Delhi High Court on January 6, 2022. The eyes of the candidates are on hearing the case a day before the exam. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to begin the civil service exams from January 7, 2022, but some applicants are demanding that the exam be postponed for the time being.

Some of the candidates who qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2021 want to postpone the exam dates for the time being. Now, the candidates appearing in the main exam (UPSC CSE Main 2022) have filed a petition with the Delhi High Court in view of the increasing threat of the novel Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The petitioners say that the UPSC Mains exam is usually held in major cities, which are very busy and already dealing with rapidly increasing cases of Kovid-19. In such a situation, the risk of offline investigation may further increase.

The petition states that ‘whatever, the candidates/applicants have seen all this and are ready to take the exams’. But suddenly the Covid 19 infection has resurfaced with its new variant Omicron and has spread rapidly in a very short time, pointing to a third Covid-19 wave.

The petition further states that ‘as of now there is no good pre-exam test’. Using acetaminophen can be misleading when monitoring temperature. If some candidates take the exam with covid, it may harm other candidates because they have to write on paper in the same space for 6 hours. Whereby, once infected, candidates are barred from writing subsequent papers as per the UPSC policy. They risk spreading it to other people, including their families.
