The Civil Services Main Investigation (2021) of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC CSE Mains) started from 7 January. Friday was the first day of the essay exam. In the exam held in the first shift from 9 to 12 am, this time asked such questions that the discussion has started on her social media. Even several IAS and IPS officers shared the questionnaire on Twitter, expressing their surprise.
What is the reason for the surprise on this time’s question sheet?
Actually, this questionnaire, divided into two sections, had a total of 8 questions or topics on which to write an essay. There were four questions for each part. In general, questions are annually about national-international, historical, economic, social or philosophical subjects. But surprisingly this time all the questions were about philosophical topics.
“What were the papermakers thinking?”
This time, the IAS and IPS officers on duty are also surprised to see such a question paper. IAS officer of Chhattisgarh, Avneesh Sharan, tweeted the questionnaire, writing: ‘When you see the essay of the main exam, you get the feeling of ‘world is not true’ and ‘aham brahmasmi’. On the other hand, IAS Prem Prakash Meena of the cadre of Uttar Pradesh wrote, ‘Who made this Devdas type paper? Who is the papermaker and what was he thinking when he made this?’
‘Such questions are more difficult than regular subjects’
Aparajita, IAS of 2018-batch, while enjoying the questionnaire, wrote: “When UPSC expects you to think ‘out of the box,’ but that box itself is outside this universe.” IRTS Rehman Shaikh of 2016 batch tweeted: “Looks like UPSC has run out of regular topics to cover in the essay. The topics this time will test your thinking and writing skills and are much more difficult.
