According to a statement from the University Grants Commission (UGC), the result of the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be announced on Thursday or Friday. The UGC NET exam has been administered in three stages across the country by NTA. The first phase was carried out from November 20, 2021 to December 5, 2021. The second phase took place from December 23 to December 27, 2021 and the third phase from January 4 to 5, 2022.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said the UGC is working closely with the NTA and every effort is being made to announce the results of UGC-NET within a day or two.

The UGC NET 2021 exam was administered to 81 subjects at 837 exam centers in 239 cities across the country. According to the data, about 12 lakh candidates have appeared for the UGC NET exam. The validity of the result certificate of UGC NET for JRF is three years.

The UGC said in a press release on Wednesday: “Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, the December 2020 survey could not be conducted. Subsequently, the UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 exams were conducted simultaneously by NTA from November 20, 2021 to January 5, 2022. The UGC NET exam was conducted on 81 subjects at 837 centers in 239 cities across the country. About 12 lakh candidates had registered in it. The process to release the result is still ongoing.
