Sainik schools to start e-counselling for students: Check details here

The Ministry of Defense has announced that the Sainik School Society (SSS) will soon introduce an automated e-counselling system with the aim of ensuring transparency in the admissions process. This new e-counselling system will first be implemented in the new schools that are being set up. Interested students can visit the official website — sainikschool.ncog.gov.in — to register and verify all details and processes.

“It will apply to the new schools being established as part of the government’s vision to provide students across the country with the opportunity to move in accordance with national education policies along with attending the Sainik School curriculum,” the ministry said.

When the process has started, the Sainik Schools Society will instruct students to apply for e-counselling, and also release the deadlines through various platforms. After that, those who score more than the qualifying marks will be sent an individual link via the registered phone number or email address. “At the same time, new Sainik schools will be given appropriate access rights to provide category and gender-related information, as well as a number of job openings,” the press release reads.

Students are allowed to choose 10 schools as their allocation choice. They are assigned a school according to the system based on their rank and choice of schools.

The final result is then declared on the e-counselling portal. Students can either accept the assigned school choice or indicate to the authorities their alternative choice for the second round of counseling. Candidates who wish to withdraw from the admission process are required to notify the authorities themselves at this time.

The final candidates will then be sent details such as date, time and place for physical verification, and the candidates not selected in the first round will then be considered for the second round of counseling only if places are still available.
