Railway Recruitment: Railway Minister said, 1.40 lakh posts are underway

Railway Recruitment: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in Rajya Sabha that 3,44,666 recruitments have been made in the railways since the year 2014 to date. Vaishnav also gave details of the railway recruitments. He said that in 2009-14, there were 2,42,709 recruits to the Railways. Since the year 2014 to date, 3,44,666 recruitments have been made. While 1,40,713 are spinning on the posts. Earlier on Wednesday, the Minister of Railways in the Lok Sabha had said that 1.49 lakh boarding stations are vacant in the Railways. Of these, the Northern Railway has the highest number of 19183 posts.

On Thursday, Vaishnav dismissed all allegations and said there is no talk of privatization of the railways. Responding to the discussion in Rajya Sabha, he said that railways have a social responsibility, it cannot be privatized.

Ashwini Vaishnav said both Vande Bharat trains have traveled more than 10 lakh kilometers. In this budget, 400 Vande Bharat trains have been announced. When new technology comes along, it takes time. In a country like India, where there is a population of 135 crore and 800 crore travel, modern technology will have to be applied.

Vaishnav said electrification was a big challenge. Between 2009 and 2014, where electrification was 608 km per year, it was 3440 km per year between 2014-19, which has reached 50 thousand km so far.

Whereas if we look at the facts, the number of new tracks, new lines, track conversion, doubling and tripling in 2009-14 was only 1,520 km per year, which has doubled to 2,531 km per year. This year’s target is more than 3000 km.

Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi party raised the issue of job vacancies in the railways and said the railway recruitment council had announced the conduct of exams in 2019. After this, the students also passed the preliminary, main and medical examination but to date they have not got the job.
