NEET PG 2022 Postpone: Demand to Postpone Medical Entrance Exam is getting louder

The chorus to postpone NEET PG 2022, the postgraduate medical entrance examination, is getting louder every day, with the Federation of All India Medical Association joining the voice of postgraduate medical aspirants. Doctors across the country say last year’s delayed counseling isn’t giving them enough time to prepare for the upcoming exam session.

In a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the doctor’s body urged him to postpone the exam “for a reasonable period” as both the NEET PG 2021 exam and the counseling process are delayed. had incurred.

“There was a delay in conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2021 exam to ensure the availability of a greater number of qualified physicians for COVID duties… the entrance exam was finally administered in September 2021, five months after the scheduled date. As a result of this delay, the candidates … have lost almost a year of their careers,” FAIMA said in a letter to the Minister of Health.

The counseling process, which was scheduled to begin in October 2021, was suspended following a Supreme Court case against 27% reservation for OBC and 10% reservation for OBC candidates in UG and PG medical admissions, it added.

The trial finally started on January 12, but again, after the intervention of the highest court, the clean-up round was canceled and a special round was held.

FAIMA also highlighted in the letter the cancellation of the preliminary results of the NEET PG 2021 stray vacancy round. “Once this is complete, state governments can hold a cleanup round. Several state governments have already released data for this, most of which run around mid-May 2022.”

Despite the protests, there is still no announcement about the postponement of NEET PG 2022. The postgraduate medical entrance examination is scheduled for May 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
