NEET PG 2021: MCC to begin counselling process soon; 5 things to remember 

NEET PG 2021 guidance: The Supreme Court of India delivered its final verdict on January 7, 2022 on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate and Postgraduate (NEET-UG and PG) admissions 2021. The Apex court maintained the quota of 27 percent for OBCs and 10 percent for the economically weaker sections (EWS) for 2021-22.

The National Board of Medical Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced the NEET PG 2021 results on September 28, 2021. The guidance process was scheduled to begin in October 2021, but was delayed due to a suspension imposed by the SC. According to the latest update, a new counseling schedule will be released by the MCC soon.

As the NEET PG 2021 counseling process is expected to start soon, here are a few things candidates should remember:

Eligibility Criteria

– Applicants who hold an MBBS Diploma or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate and hold a Permanent or Provisional Registration Certificate of MBBS Qualification and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship on or before June 30, 2021 , can apply for NEET-PG 2021 and are eligible to apply.

Any candidate who is ineligible at any stage of NEET-PG 2021 will not be allowed to participate in the exam and/or counseling.

– Registration with the NMC/Former Medical Council of India or State Medical Council is necessary and the supporting document is to be provided by the candidates on the day of the exam and at the time of counseling/admission.

– Only those candidates are eligible to participate in the counseling for All India 50 Percent Quota Seats for the 2021 admission session who meet the eligibility criteria provided by the designated Advisory Authority for All India 50 Percent Quota Seats.

– Candidates are advised to maintain consistency in their data. Details provided on NBE NEET-PG 2021 Registration Form like Mobile Number, Email ID, the same details must be entered to register for Counseling.

– A candidate may qualify for NEET-PG 2021 according to the criteria but may not be on the list of candidates eligible for counseling for All India 50 percent quota seats based on eligibility criteria provided by the designated advisory authority . However, such candidate is eligible to be considered for state quota seat counseling in accordance with applicable regulations, eligibility criteria, applicable guidelines and state reservation policies.
