Ministry of Education wins best tableau award presented on Republic Day 2022

The Ministry of Education has been awarded the prize for the best scene, awarded on the 73rd Republic Day. This year the tableau had shown the most important aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) through the theme ‘Vedas to Metaverse’.

The Ministry of Education took to the social media platform Twitter to share the news.

Starting from Vedas, the front part of the tableau showed the tradition and past of the country in the field of education since ancient times. This was followed by glimpses of the Gurukul education system and then of the world famous universities such as Nalanda, which used to attract students and scholars from all over the world.

The back part started with a prop that symbolized creativity, technological progress and innovation. In addition, students of different age groups and backgrounds indicated the development of skills at the edges of the tableau. This tableau also highlighted advances in augmented reality and virtual reality technologies.

Images of scholars, educators and scientists – ranging from antiquity to modern times – were also displayed on a lower panel at the edge of the tableau.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Minister of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, also took to Twitter to congratulate the Education Department and all the other winners of the parade.

“Congratulations to all winners of the competitive presentation in the Republic Day Parade 2022!” he tweeted. “Particularly pleased to see the @EduMinOfIndia tableau winning the best tableau award in the Central Ministries/Deptts. category.”

“The tableau showcased #NEP2020 themed ‘From Vedas to Metaverse’, weaving a thread between India’s glorious past, present and smart future of education in India,” his tweet continued.
