Ministry of Defense approves 21 new Sainik schools for the academic year 2022-2023

Ministry of Defense has approved the establishment of 21 new Sainik schools in cooperation with NGOs/Private Schools/State Governments. These schools will be established in the early stages of the government initiative to establish 100 new Sainik schools across the country in partnership. They will be different from the existing Sainik schools. A military spokesman here said the vision of establishing 100 new Sainik schools is to provide the students with quality education in accordance with the national education policy and to provide them with better career opportunities, including joining the armed forces. It also provides an opportunity to work closely with the government on nation-building fine-tuning the private sector to transform today’s youth into responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Public Relations Officer Shantanu Pratap Singh said in a press release released Saturday evening that the state/UT list of 21 approved new Sainik schools is attached and can also be accessed at www.sainikschool.ncog.gov.in. Of these 17 schools are brownfield schools and 4 are greenfield schools that will be operational soon. While NGOs/trusts/associations have a share of 12 approved new schools, 6 private schools and 3 state schools have found a place in the list of such approved new Sainik schools. Unlike the existing Sainik schools, which are purely residential in nature, 7 new Sainik schools are day schools and 14 such newly approved schools have residential scheme.

These new Sainik schools, in addition to their affiliation with the respective education boards, will function under the auspices of Sainik School Society and will follow the rules and regulations for new Sainik schools in a partnership mode as directed by the Society. Besides their regular syllabus of the affiliated board, they will also provide academic plus curriculum education to the students of Sainik School Pattern. Enrollment Process
Admission to the new Sainik school pattern in these schools is only at the level of Class VI in the following manner. At least 40 percent admission in class VI is of those candidates who have passed the All India Sainik School entrance examination conducted by NTA through e-counseling. Up to 60 percent admission will be from students who are enrolled in the same school and seeking admission want to get under this vertical of new Sainik schools through a qualifying exam, for which notice will be issued separately. -2022 Candidates will be notified of the opening of newly approved Sainik schools on their registered email ID with NTA and the process to apply in these schools.

Eligible candidates willing to be admitted to the newly approved school of their choice must register at https://sainikschool.ncog.gov.in prior to counseling. Students must use their AISSEE-2022 application number to login and register on the web portal, after which the prospective student can indicate the choice of up to 10 schools in order of priority for e-consultation. The registered applicants will be assigned schools in the order of merit list for each school as far as the number of seats to be filled in that school by AISSEE 2022 qualified candidates. Qualified candidates of AISSEE 2022 who wish to join new Sainik schools are advised to regularly visit the web portal for all the latest updates on e-Paramarsh.

Students already enrolled in new Sainik schools and willing to study under this vertical of new Sainik schools will be given admission based on a qualifying exam to be held shortly. The new Sainik schools will be notified separately so that the details of such interested candidates can be provided to the Examination Board within the deadline, the details of which will also be available on the web portal https:/sainikschool.ncog will be made available.

The academic session for the approved new Sainik schools is likely to start in the first week of May 2022. Indicative deadlines can be seen on the web portal https:/sainikschool.ncog.gov.in.

The portal is likely to reopen in the first week of April 2022 to invite applications for the remaining new Sainik schools for consideration in the next round. Interested schools/NGOs can study the QR, MoA and rules and regulations for new Sainik schools in partnership mode available on the web portal.

Schools/Non-Govt./Trusts/Societies etc. that have already applied and applied during the first round do not need to reapply or pay the re-registration fee. However, such already registered applicants can study the QR, Rules and Regulations and MoA and update their details with any new entry on the web portal.
