Volunteers will now be reinstated to teach children in the state’s elementary schools. As long as there are no regular teachers in schools, schools can teach children through volunteers. For this, the School Education and Literacy Department has requested the reports of all districts.
Number of requested students and teachers: The Education Department has asked all districts for a report on the number of school-aged students and teachers. Based on this report, it is determined how many volunteers are needed at which school.
Guidelines are issued: There will also be a separate guideline for the appointment of volunteers and the standards will be established. This will include a provision about the eligibility of the volunteers from the amount received. It will be adopted from the new academic session of 2022-23.
26 thousand teacher posts are vacant: 57 thousand pay scale teachers and 62 thousand assistant teachers (para-teachers) work in 35,437 primary schools of the state. At the same time, 26 thousand of the sanctioned posts are vacant. The state government had ordered to restore the bridge guide in case of closure of schools. But it was postponed due to the corona infection. It started in the schools of some districts, but now the government is going to take care of it until the tenure is done. In the schools of the remaining seven districts of the state, offline education will also start from the first place. In such a situation, due to a lack of teachers in schools of the new session, education should not be interrupted and the help of volunteers will be called in to complete the syllabus on time.
List of plus two teachers also wanted
The Education Department also looked at the number of teachers working in plus two schools and the number of vacant posts in all districts. The Secretary of State for Secondary Education has asked the DEOs of all districts to provide a list of sanctioned, working and vacant posts of postgraduate trained teachers in plus two schools, effective March 1, 2021. It should also be mentioned that how many teachers are of the general, planned tribe, planned caste, backward, most backward and economically weaker section among the working subject-oriented teachers. There will also be teachers of Hindi, English, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Commerce and Maithili.
