Demand for NEET MDS 2022 exam postponement is increasing, know what’s going on..

There is a demand to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET MDS 2022. The NEET MDS exam is scheduled for March 6, 2022. In recent days, students have been campaigning on Twitter to demand a postponement of the NEET MDS exam. Students tweet using the hashtags #DelayNEETMDS2022 and #DeferNEETMDS2022.

dr. Chinmayi Gowda wrote in a tweet: “I request the Director General of Additional Medical Education to change the date of the NEET exam as many interns are not eligible to participate in the exam along with counseling for #NEETPG and #NEETMDS.”‘

In addition, the intervention request was recently submitted in the petition of NEET PG. With the submission of the intervention request, the students demanded postponement of the MDS exam like PG. On February 10, the Supreme Court had given the Ministry of Health a week to resolve the case.

Why is there a request to postpone NEET MDS?
Students indicate that many students have not completed their internship. According to the eligibility criteria announced by the Dental Council of India, aspirants must complete their internship before March 31, 2022 to sit for the entrance examination. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges started internships late, affecting the 2016 group students and now they are not eligible to appear for this exam.

Also 2020 NEET MDS batch started late. This batch started in November 2021. Since it is only a few months in their syllabus, it will take time to complete the studies of this batch. Candidates say that if NEET MDS 2022 is implemented on March 6, 2022, it is likely to put a strain on infrastructure as it is not easy to accommodate 2 batches at the same time.

Not only this, the mentoring of PG and MDS candidates happens simultaneously. The NEET PG exam has been postponed and is now scheduled for May 21. While NEET will be held on March 6 before MDS PG. Students preparing for MDS say that when counseling is done at the same time, why take the exam before PG? Let us inform you that last year these exams were also held at different times, which meant that MDS candidates had to wait 1 year for guidance.

dr. Shyam Jaiswal told Bihar Engineering: “We had approached the Supreme Court on February 10 and we had presented our position in court. The court ordered the ministry to resolve the matter before the 17th. We are concerned and await the order from the Ministry. We hope the ministry listens to our concerns and makes a decision soon.

One candidate Shreya (name changed) said, “There are only 20 days left for the exam. 2500 dental students are not eligible for the exam and we don’t want to waste our time at home for a year. The 2016 ineligible batch also needs time to prepare for the exam as our internship is still ongoing.

Amit (name changed) said: “The counseling for NEET PG and NEET MDS is happening simultaneously because their software is similar and they follow the same schedule of counseling. Officials said so last year. Last year, MDS candidates had to wait a long time for guidance. In a situation we want the exam date to be extended.
