In fact, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued guidelines on December 27, 2021, in which the vaccination campaign of children between 15-18 years old has started from January 3, 2022 in the context of the National Immunization Programme. The Board of Education, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) have made announcements on their official website for schools to join this action.
In a post on CBSE’s official website cbse.gov.in, it urged parents, schools, staff and others to vaccinate children. “According to the guidelines of the Indian government, taking COVID-19 vaccination will protect children in the age group of 15-18 years,” the CBSE report said. Furthermore, ‘heads of schools affiliated with CBSE are advised to encourage the parents, teachers and staff of students to send their children in the age group of 15-18 years according to the guidelines of the Government of India at the earliest. At the same time, CISCE posted a notice on its official website saying that student vaccination is very important because it will ensure safety. While students can step out for school projects, classes or exams. It is the right step for the students in the 10th and 12th grade exam. After vaccination, students can appear for offline classes, for practical work or for semester 2 exams. Therefore, CISCE affiliated school leaders are advised to encourage the parents and guardians of the students of their school to vaccinate children in the 15-18 age group at the earliest.”
