Babasaheb used to say that he believes in a religion that teaches liberty, equality and brotherhood. He believed that life should be grand rather than long.
The family of Babasaheb Ambedkar belonged to the Mahar caste, which was considered untouchable. He was a Dalit. In the fight against the discrimination prevailing in society at the time, he achieved the post of the Prime Minister of Justice of India on the basis of his prowess. In 1990 he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest award.
He had a degree in economics and political science from Bombay University. He went to America to do his MA. At that time he was only 22 years old. Ambedkar founded the Labor Party in 1936. Ambedkar released biweekly and weekly papers called ‘Bahishkrit Bharat’, ‘Mook Nayak’, ‘Janata’ to raise his voice against the atrocities against Dalits.
